History
The first mention of the Women’s Basketball Society was through an advertisement in the McGarel Volume 4, No.11 & 12 Christmas edition 1972, which advised women to contact Bob Walker or Miss Bailes. The academic year of 1972/73 saw the birth of the women’s basketball society with help from the men’s team and Bob Walker, who were able to assist women who had never played the sport, enabling them to pick up skills rapidly.
