History
First column over several years of the publishing of McGarel, there is a report on the Polytechnic’s Water Ski Club in May 1974. Later on in that year in October 1974, the society arranged meetings on either Saturdays or Sundays in Littlehampton, Sussex, where members were able to use a 65 hp Mercury engine. In April 1979, the society operated at Kirtons farm near Reading, with membership cost £5. The society at the time was more suited to people who had previous experience of water skiing rather than complete novices.
