            White cotton trousers with pleats that run from the waistband and a crease down each leg. Trousers are front fastening via four white plastic buttons with an extended tab at the waistband. On one end of this tab there is a hook that fastens onto the outside of the waistband. At the other end of this tab, there are two button holes, through which two buttons that are on the inside of the waistband fasten. There is a small buckle fastening at each side of the waistband that can be adjusted for added security. At either side of the waist there is a vertical, in seam pocket. At the reverse there is a single, welted pocket with a button fastening. The trousers are unlined. British Army

            Khaki breeches in a heavy wool fabric. The breeches are front fastening via six khaki-coloured, plastic buttons on a concealed button placket. Six more buttons can be found at the waistband to enable braces to be attached. A further two buttons are located just below the waistband at the rear. On each side of the fly at the front of the trousers sits a type of slanted pocket known as a frogmouth pocket. Below the pocket on the right side is a first field dressing pocket. This is a box pleated, patch pocket [currently stitched closed] with a button fastening. The breeches are cut wide above the knees and tapering tight from the knee downwards. Reinforced patches made of cotton moleskin are sewn using dark, contrasting stitching, to the inner lower thighs. The calf opening [cuff] of each leg also features two matching buttons. The hem of each leg is trimmed with a hard wearing, cotton fabric in a lighter coloured khaki. The trousers are unlined. On the inside of the waistband is stamped the 'Broad Arrow mark' consisting of "W / [upwards pointing arrow] / D / 11." British Army

            Lightweight trousers in an olive green cotton mix. Trousers are front fastening with a zip fly leading to a green plastic button at the waistband. The waistband has five belt loops with button down closures, allowing for a 2 inch [5.08cm] belt to be worn. There are also waist adjusters at the side seams of the waistband which can be tightened for added security. At the front, either side of the fly, there are two, large angled pockets. At the reverse, there is a button down flap pocket and on the left leg there is a cargo pocket, both of these fasten with a green plastic button. The trousers are unlined. Compton Sons & Webb Ltd

            Trousers made from a heavy, woollen twill fabric in a khaki brown colour. Trousers are front fastening via five khaki, plastic buttons [one missing] on a concealed button placket. There is a pleat at either side of the opening. On the waistband there is a hook and eye fastening and a concealed button on an extended tab. On the inside of the waistband are six sets of two plastic buttons, placed at regular intervals, to enable braces to be worn and adjusted. The outside of the waistband features three belt loops and waist adjuster tabs at each side seam for added security. At each hip, there are slanted pockets which sit just forward of the side seam. At the reverse there are two flap pockets, each fastening via a plastic button. A side mounted map pocket with a flap and button fastening can be found on the upper left leg.             High waisted shorts in a khaki coloured cotton fabric. Shorts are front fastening via a button fly which contains five grey, plastic buttons on a concealed button placket. The left side of the waistband has an extended tab with a hook at the end that fastens onto a loop on the right side of the waistband. An additional, concealed grey, plastic button can be found on the reverse of the left side of the waistband and fastens through a button hole on the right. Adjustable tabs can be found at either side of the waistband and can be tightened for added security. On either side of the fly are two 20cm pleats that run vertically from the base of the waistband. At the waist, are two, vertical, in seam pockets. On the reverse of the shorts is a single jetted pocket. There is a button on the inside of the pocket that fastens through a button hole which sits just below the lower edge of the pocket. At the back, halfway between the centre and side seams on each side, there is a 13cm dart which runs vertically from the base of the waistband. British Army

            Shorts in a hard wearing cream / light brown cotton fabric. Shorts are front fastening via a button fly comprising of four metal stud buttons. At the waist, there are five belt loops on the waistband so a belt can be worn. Vertical, in seam pockets are found at waist level on each of the side seams. At the back, there are no back pockets. There is a shaped seam that runs from each side seam to a v shaped point which sits behind the belt loop at the centre of the waistband at the back of the shorts. The bottom of the right leg of the shorts has been cut off and is frayed. The crotch of the shorts have been repaired, with stitching visible. Bukta

            Trousers made of lightweight cotton printed with a camouflage pattern in shades of olive green and brown (ERDL pattern?). Fly closure centre front with silver metal 'TEE' zip and plastic olive green button. Five belt loops on waistband and tabs on the back side waist with two buttons for fit. Inside waistband lined in white cotton twill weave drill. Two pockets on the front with angled side openings and two patch pockets at rear, the left pocket closing with a plastic olive green button. The right has no button or button hole. There are inconsistencies in the printing of the camouflage pattern with overprinting and 'shadowing' of the design.

            Wool Trousers with Backstrap

            Grey green fulled wool trousers with high waist buttons for braces and backstrap which fastens with a black metal two-prong buckle. The trousers fasten centre front with a four button fly. The buttons are grey plastic. The top button of the fly on the waistband and the eight buttons for braces are made of a silver coloured metal, possibly aluminium. The trousers have slanted pockets at the front hips which fasten with grey plastic buttons with an additional smaller slit pocket on the right front side. The backstrap tabs are sewn into the side seams and have a loop on each side to thread through. There is a deep V opening in the centre back of the waist. The pocket linings and waist lining are white cotton and there is a hanging loop at the centre back waist. Appear unworn. Braces - 2017.277.2 - attached. Size 52. Care label in German.             Protective trousers made from a black, heavy duty, Kevlar fabric. Trousers are front fastening via a zip fly that leads to velcro at the waist on an extended tab. Side adjusters are found on the waistband at each side seam. Patches of reinforced fabric are found at each knee. There are no pockets. British Armed Forces
