            Black wool bespoke tailored evening waistcoat with deep shawl collar trimmed with fine black braid around the collar, pocket welts and the front bottom hem. It is lined with cream silk satin which has been hand stitched and the back is made of black silk (?) twill. Fastening at the centre front with three buttons and three hand finished buttonholes. Two functional pockets with welts on the bottom left and right front panels. The back has a V shaped notch in the bottom hem and two black silk (?) backstraps (tabs) which have been altered by hand stitching them down and fasten with a black lacquered metal two pronged buckle with 'BRITISH' on one side and 'ARMFIELD B'HAM' [Birmingham] on the other. Label hand stitched into the back of the left backstrap. Made by Billings & Edmonds Ltd of London and Godalming for A. E. Sursham.

            Black wool double breasted tailcoat with peak lapels and square taills. It has six black woven thread wrapped shank buttons down the front with six (open) buttonholes. Two of the same buttons are at the centre back waist, and two smaller black thread wrapped shank buttons are on each cuff. It is lined in black rayon? and cotton with cream striped cotton lining the sleeves. There are vertical slit pockets in the top of each tail and pockets in the chest lining. The one on the right contains the tailor's label. There is a woven black and yellow label in the back of the neck which is shredding, only 'BERLIN' is visable. The buttons have 'C. H. R. BERLIN' engraved into the black japanned metal backs. The coat has been skillfully let out and altered - evidence from inserts in the lining under each armhole and where the front buttons appear to have been moved.

            Waistcoat in a grey tweed fabric with a blue over check. Waistcoat has a high closure and three, welted pockets; two on the left side of the front and one on the right. There is an angled, welted breast pocket on the left side of the chest. Flat pockets are on either side of the waist Above the waist pocket on the left side is a smaller, welted pocket [likely for a pocket watch].             Double breasted uniform jacket made to a regulation Merchant Navy pattern. Jacket is fastened by two rows of four gilt buttons bearing the emblem of the Merchant Navy; has jetted pockets at the waist; and a breast pocket on the left side. Above this pocket is a ribbon bar, displaying the ribbons of medals that have been awarded. Handstitched to each cuff is the insignia of a Merchant Navy Captain, four rings of gold wire lace, with the central two rings crossed to form a diamond shape. The jacket is lined and has a jetted breast pocket on the right side and a jetted waist pocket on the left. 无标题的

            Light green cotton collarless waistcoat with machine embroidered design of leaves and flowers across the fronts in light green thread. It buttons down the front with six brown horn buttons sewn on with red thread and has four slanted welted pockets. The back and lining is cream cotton and there are back tabs which fasten with a double prong metal buckle and multicoloured thread eyelets.

            Creations Fischer Tailoring Pattern Blocks

            A collection of bundles of paper and cardboard tailoring pattern blocks for jackets, coats and trousers. Total of 111 bundles of loose pattern pieces with some additional loose paper items. They are connected through punched holes in the top of the patterns with cotton cording attached to metal hanging hooks. All of the pattern pieces have handwritten notations and some are stamped with 'Creations Fischer / 18 Rue Duhesme / Paris 18ème'. Many have 'YSL' or Yves Saint Laurent hand written on them; others are stamped with 'Overseas Services and Trading / Diffusion / Givenchy Gentleman'; there are also some for Hermès Femme that Georges Fischer adapted from a man's block. 无标题的
