            Photograph of the Royal party during the Royal Polytechnic Display held at the White City Stadium held on the 26th May 1908. Standing fourth from the left, in a bright white hat and dress, is HM Queen Alexandra. Fifth from left is the HRH Prince of Wales followed by, standing to the left of the Prince of Wales and wearing a cylinder hat, French President Fallières. King Edward VII can be seen standing to the left of President Fallières. Also present is Pierre de Coubertin.

            Typescript text signed and dated by David Crosfield, member of the Polytechnic Harriers, 10th November 1975, giving some context to the album images; including details of the various sports grounds featured; 133x204mm. Postcard featuring image of Dorando Pietri, disqualified winner of the Marathon race. [He is being assisted over the line by Jack Andrew, Honorary General Secretary of the Polytechnic Harriers, and organiser of the Marathon - this act led to a protest by the Americans whose athlete, Hayes, finished second, and who was eventually given the winner's title. Public support for Italian runner led to the presentation of a cup to Pietri by Queen Alexandra]; 87x130mm.

            Collection of photographs of David Ricketts and other cyclists at various cycling events. There are 7 photographs of the 1948 Olympic Games 4000m pursuit race including the start, the race itself, lap of honour and winners on the podium. Other photographs include Bob 'Digger' Downs after his final appearance at Herne Hill, [1949]; Ricketts receiving a cup at Portsmouth, [1948]; portrait of Giovanni Corrieri, [1947]; Ricketts with Jacques Lanners at Herne Hill, 26 April 1947 with signatures of both men. Many of the photographs are undated.

            Bronze medal. dia. 51mm. Obverse: goddess Victory, holding a palm in her left hand and a winner's crown in her right; accompanied by the legend in four lines 'XIVth Olympiad London 1948'. Reverse: an Olympic champion carried in triumph by the crowd with the Olympic stadium in the background. This medal was used since the 1928 Games and was created by Florentine artist Giuseppe Cassioli. In presentation box. Belonged to David Ricketts.

            Rectangular metal badge. Obverse: City view of London showing Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster accompanied by the legend in two lines 'XIV Olympiad London 1948' and the Olympic rings below. This badge was issued to officials and competitors in the Games for purposes of identification. Each badge had a ribbon, the colour of which distinguished to which group the wearer belonged. Athletic participants had orange ribbons [now missing]. Belonged to David Ricketts.

Reverse: Quadriga with triumphant winner dashing. This medal was designed by B Mackennal and produced by J Pinches Ltd., and was presented to each of the 4062 participants.
