The front opening at the neck has a silver coloured metal zip and the pull is inscribed with 'LIGHTENING'. It has side splits and the CC41 label is sewn into the left side seam near the bottom. It has two small holes in the front chest.

It has a 16 inch / 41 centimetre collar.

Long sleeved cotton shirt made of black and white checked gingham cotton. The shirt has been dip-dyed in a burgundy red colour up to the chest and top part of the arm, just below the shoulder. It has a turn down collar, dress front placket and buttons with seven black plastic buttons. The sleeves have vents, fastening with one button, the cuffs have two buttons, one buttonhole. The cotton has slightly faded overall from washing and wear.

The shirt has long sleeves with button holes. The hemline of the shirt is longer at the back than at the front and there are splits at each side seam.

Full length, man's white cotton nightshirt which is entirely hand-made. There is a double yoke and reinforced panels around the front and back of the sleeve insertion. Back is gathered into yoke between the two reinforcing panels. Front opens to about waist level and fastens with two fabric covered buttons [there should be 3 but one is missing] and stitched button-holes. Lace detailing at the collar, front and cuffs.
