Scope and content

Photograph showing a car with a folding frame-type aerial on the roof and a chauffeur sitting at the wheel. The car is parked in front of J Heywood and the windows of the Polytechnic Touring Assocation offices [Regent Street] can just be seen. There is a group of men, children and a policeman standing on the pavement looking at the car.

The car represented Technical Education and had on top 'a modern wireless apparatus.which, during the course of the procession picked up from a broadcasting station messages from the Lord Mayor and passed them on by means of a loud-speaking attachment.' (Polytechnic Magazine December 1922)

Annotated on reverse 'wireless car' and 'LMS 1922'.
