Agreement for letting of Large Hall for entertainment purposes from the Polytechnic Institute to Charles Morritt. The agreement lets the Large Hall for a term of 5 years for entertainments in the afternoon between 2 and 5pm, except in July. 'The Polytechnic shall provide the said Hall free of all rent rates and taxes electric light and current for a cinematograph provided the said hall is available and not damaghed or rendered unihabitable by fire or bombs or anything outside the control of the Polytechnic Institute and also provided the current for the electric light and cinematograph [cinema] is also available'. The Polytechnic is to receive 1/5th of the takings unless that mounts to less than £15, when the difference shall be deducted from Morritt's share. Charless Morritt agrees that 'the entertainments shall be of a high class character and nothing of an objectionable nature shall be allowed to be shewn'.
