Single-breasted raincoat made from vulcanised cotton - a rubberising process that renders the coat waterproof. It has a concealed front placket with three black Hancock 1843 horn buttons and an exposed smaller top button. It has front angled welt pockets and a single back vent. The underarms feature three grommets for ventilation. The coat is lined in a vulcanised printed cotton with a repeat multicoloured graphic 'H' design on a navy background. The centre back has an additional strip of navy tape for further waterproofing. There is one internal patch pocket in a contrasting beige. The cuffs have adjustable tabs with two branded buttons on each. Interior seams and pockets are glued and taped by hand; a process called 'smearing' before being rolled flat using a hardened steel hand roller then finished with a rubber cleaning wheel tool.
It is made of rubber bonded (vulcanised) 100% cotton. Two layers of cloth are bonded with a layer of rubber in between.
