Postcard: The Polytechnic Chalets, Seeburg, Lucerne. Aerial photograph of the chalets and lake, with steamship moored at the boathouse. In MS an x has been drawn on the photograph.
Used. Stamped and postmarked 21-22 [May] 1937. Addressed to Mrs J Hoyle, Holly Mount, Rawtenstall, Rossendale, Lancashire, England.
MS on verso: 'Well! here we are darling. I quite enjoyed the journey in spite of the cold. Tell Suzanne I think she will cross on the same boat: to Ostend it was called Prince Leopold. We had a rough crossing but I still love the sea as much as ever. Was wishing I was staying on for days [and] we'd have needed warmer clothes. It was terribly cold in the train too but there were some jolly people in the compartment and we kept warming each other's feet. It's lovely here and we are in the chalet adjoining the dining room so no going out to meals. I've X it on other side. Lots of love to all. [Lu].'
