Obverse: angel blowing trumpet in right hand and winner's crown in left, with dormant lion and latin motto 'civium vires, civitatis vis' ('the power of the State lies in the strength of its citizens' - originally adopted by the National Olympic Society in 1865). Reverse: Inscription within laurel wreath: 'Dunlop Cup Novices Award for the best performance in 1938 - D E Ricketts'.
