          Postcard of John 'Johnny' Joseph Hayes, wearing number 26 shirt, finishing the 1908 Olympic Marathon. Hayes came second to Pietro Dorando but was given the gold medal following a successful protest by the American team that Dorando had been assisted over the finish line. Also depicts one of the officials, Jack Andrew, of the Polytechnic Harriers.

The collection includes issues 11-15, 17, and 28 as well as other issues which are missing their front covers. The pages of the newspapers are numbered consecutively across the series. The newspapers includes interviews with and photographs of athletes, as well as photographs of parades and political leaders.
