The size of shopping centres by R.J.Green and R.M.Beaumont was an early published example of trying to establish a method for establishing the relationship between expenditure, population, sales and area needed for retail trade. DA Ltd had already established, and were using, a much more detailed and refined methodology see 22.20 and other examples of their reports for local authorities.
