Six lectures delivered at the Institute of Social Studies at The Hague, 1953. An attempt to emphasize those aspects of the subject, which lead beyond the specialist's interest, and which demand the understanding and the active cooperation of all concerned with the problems of the so-called 'under-developed' and 'over-developed' regions. These lectures influenced much of ML's later thinking concerning the city in its region and particularly as expressed in Kaduna 1917/1967/2017.
