        History

Jeanne Lanvin began her business as a milliner and opened her first shop in Paris in 1889. She became a member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture in 1909. The menswear department opened in 1926 with the launch of a made-to-measure clothing line. It included tailoring alongside men's outfitting (shirts, ties, pyjamas, day and sports clothes).
