Includes photographs of competitors in previous competitions, going back to the 1936 Olympics, list of competitors for each race and a timetable. there are also advertisements for Horlicks, the Royal Free Hospital and the 'Our Royal Heritage' cinema entertainment.

Covering letter from News of The World on headed paper enclosing three copies of the souvenir programme that were left over after the Games.
