First entry reads: School Board for London: Clerkenwell EC: Bowling Green Lane Night-School. School nights: Monday - Wednesday - Friday.

The book includes statistics (and remarks upon) of attendance; names of staff; copies of government reports of the school including financial details; occasional mentions of pupils by name for exceptional behaviour.

A printed timetable of subjects and teaching staff for 1912 is glued onto pages 240-241, with a handwritten list of staff (including their qualifications, home address and day occupations) on page 246-251. A form relating to payments for Singing classes is glued onto page 253. The general timetable for 1916-17 is glued onto pages 260-262 nd includes the names of teaching staff, and a typescript timetable for Summer 1917 is glued (and folded) onto page 266. Page 268 has timetable for afternoon classes in modern languages, September 1917, held at the School of Photo-Engraving and Lithography. A timetable for Summer 1920 is loose between pages 278 and 279.
