United States Navy Chief Petty Officer Uniform - Pea Coat

Navy blue double breasted pea coat fastening with six buttons and six button holes. The buttons are large navy blue plastic with an anchor and rope design (the navy fouled anchor) etched into them. They have four holes and they are sewn on with a 'Z' stitch. There are two additional buttons under the turn down collar allowing the lapels, which have button holes, to be buttoned over. It has two vertical inset pockets at the hips which are lined in cream cotton corduroy. The coat is lined in black rayon and has a makers label, a paper tag stapled to the lining with 'T2-39' handwritten on it, and 'THOMPSON S. L. 418 54 55' stencilled in white in three places on the lining.

Navy blue wool sailors pullover or jumper with large square collar which is embroidered with two white five pointed stars. The collar, lapels and cuffs are trimmed with three rows of white braid. Each cuff fastens with two navy blue plastic buttons engraved with an anchor and rope design (the navy foulded anchor). The left shoulder has a square patch badge with a motif of an eagle embroidered in white thread over the insignia for an aviation electionics technician (two overlapped ovals with wings, two stars and four dots) and two red chevrons. Lower down the left arm is a navy blue patch badge with two red diagonal stripes. On the right shoulder is a badge with 'CARAEWRON 12' (Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron) in white stitching. Under the collar at the back of the neck is a square cotton makers label - the printing has faded away - handwritten on it is 'THOMPSON'. It has 'SLT' stencilled in white on the inside back neck. There is a small inset pocket on the left breast. The pullover is worn with the medal and black tie.

Navy blue wool trousers with wide flared legs. They have a high waistband with six belt loops and a V notch in the back centre seam of the waistband. They fasten with a metal zip fly with 'WALDES' and 'Made in the USA' on the pull tab. They have a small plastic button with the US Navy foulded anchor emblem engraved into it. There are angled inset pockets at the hips and two jetted pockets at the rear. The left rear pocket fastens with a button, the right pocket has no fastening. The pockets are lined in black cotton. There is a makers label sewn onto the left rear pocket lining and on the underside is 'SLT' stencilled in white. Size 32 Regular.

Navy blue wool hat. It has a round flat crown and stiffened hat band. The outside of the hat band is trimmed in black rayon ribbon embroidered in yellow gold thread 'U.S. NAVY' and finished with a flat bow. The inside of the hat band is made of dark cream leather. On the underside of the crown is a clear plastic diamond sewn to the black rayon lining wth a double line of stitches. On the inside of the leather band is 'SLT' stencilled in black. Under the leather band is a makers label.

Bronze coloured metal round medal on a red rayon grosgrain ribbon and attached to a pin. The round medal has 'UNITED STATES NAVY' around the image of a masted sailing ship with 'CONSTITUTION' underneath it. Around the outside is a chain and anchor. On the other side of the medal is 'FIDELITY ZEAL CONFIDENCE'. Worn on sailors pullover on the left breast. Good conduct medal.

Khaki cotton jacket featuring a camouflage pattern in shades of light brown and light tan. The jacket has a turn-down collar and fastens at the centre front with a metal zip. It includes two large inset pockets at the waist, with jetted openings and curved-edged flaps. A black felt badge on the left upper arm is attached with two black metal buttons engraved with 'STONE ISLAND.' The badge is embroidered with green and yellow stitching, featuring a four-pointed compass symbol within a circle. The cuffs fasten with metal press studs, with an orange rubber ring around the top part. The same press studs are present at the side hems. The underside of the collar is finished in mid-brown fabric, while the inside back of the neck and inner front-facing edges are detailed with two lines of narrow cream cotton webbing. There is a label at the back of the neck and a large care label on the inside front right side.
