Calf length great coat in a heavy, woollen, khaki coloured fabric. Coat has a turn down collar and large lapels. Coat is double breasted and front fastening. Eight domed, gold buttons sit at the front of the coat, four on either side of the opening. These buttons display the regimental crest of the Yorkshire and Lancashire Regiment [a tiger surmounted by a Tudor rose]. Under these on the right side, there are two small, brown, plastic buttons which fasten through two corresponding, concealed tabs which are inside the left side of the jacket. There is a double hook and eye fastening at the collar. At either side of the waist there is a jetted pocket with a flap. Straps can be found at the shoulders, each fastened with a matching gold button. Each sleeve has a large, turn back cuff which is about 14cm in depth. At the reverse of the coat there is pleat which runs down the centre seam of the coat from the shoulder blades to the waist. There is a large dart on either side of the centre seam, from armpit level to just below the waist. Under this there is a vent, 64cm in length, that runs from thigh level to the hem and can be buttoned closed by a small, brown plastic button. A half belt is found at waist level on the back of the coat and is secured by three gold buttons that match the others on the coat. The coat is lined in a khaki serge fabric to just over 3/4 of the way down. On the left side at chest level, there is a vertical, jetted pocket which sits approximately 13cm in from the opening. Buttoned to the lining next to this is a triangular piece of fabric in an identical wool to the outer which can be buttoned to the collar of the jacket to act as a 'throat guard.' British Army

Shorts in a hard wearing cream / light brown cotton fabric. Shorts are front fastening via a button fly comprising of four metal stud buttons. At the waist, there are five belt loops on the waistband so a belt can be worn. Vertical, in seam pockets are found at waist level on each of the side seams. At the back, there are no back pockets. There is a shaped seam that runs from each side seam to a v shaped point which sits behind the belt loop at the centre of the waistband at the back of the shorts. The bottom of the right leg of the shorts has been cut off and is frayed. The crotch of the shorts have been repaired, with stitching visible. Bukta

Khaki breeches in a heavy wool fabric. The breeches are front fastening via six khaki-coloured, plastic buttons on a concealed button placket. Six more buttons can be found at the waistband to enable braces to be attached. A further two buttons are located just below the waistband at the rear. On each side of the fly at the front of the trousers sits a type of slanted pocket known as a frogmouth pocket. Below the pocket on the right side is a first field dressing pocket. This is a box pleated, patch pocket [currently stitched closed] with a button fastening. The breeches are cut wide above the knees and tapering tight from the knee downwards. Reinforced patches made of cotton moleskin are sewn using dark, contrasting stitching, to the inner lower thighs. The calf opening [cuff] of each leg also features two matching buttons. The hem of each leg is trimmed with a hard wearing, cotton fabric in a lighter coloured khaki. The trousers are unlined. On the inside of the waistband is stamped the 'Broad Arrow mark' consisting of "W / [upwards pointing arrow] / D / 11." British Army

High waisted shorts in a khaki coloured cotton fabric. Shorts are front fastening via a button fly which contains five grey, plastic buttons on a concealed button placket. The left side of the waistband has an extended tab with a hook at the end that fastens onto a loop on the right side of the waistband. An additional, concealed grey, plastic button can be found on the reverse of the left side of the waistband and fastens through a button hole on the right. Adjustable tabs can be found at either side of the waistband and can be tightened for added security. On either side of the fly are two 20cm pleats that run vertically from the base of the waistband. At the waist, are two, vertical, in seam pockets. On the reverse of the shorts is a single jetted pocket. There is a button on the inside of the pocket that fastens through a button hole which sits just below the lower edge of the pocket. At the back, halfway between the centre and side seams on each side, there is a 13cm dart which runs vertically from the base of the waistband. British Army

Lightweight trousers in an olive green cotton mix. Trousers are front fastening with a zip fly leading to a green plastic button at the waistband. The waistband has five belt loops with button down closures, allowing for a 2 inch [5.08cm] belt to be worn. There are also waist adjusters at the side seams of the waistband which can be tightened for added security. At the front, either side of the fly, there are two, large angled pockets. At the reverse, there is a button down flap pocket and on the left leg there is a cargo pocket, both of these fasten with a green plastic button. The trousers are unlined. Compton Sons & Webb Ltd

Thigh length, single breasted dress jacket [or tunic] in red wool. Jacket has a high neck and a standing collar that is faced with black wool and edged with gold braid and lace. Jacket fastens at the front via eight, ornate, domed, brass buttons and the collar with a double hook and eye fastening. The jacket is lightly tailored with the buttons stopping at the waist seam which runs the circumference of the jacket. The chest panel is slightly quilted to give a rounded shape. The cuff of each sleeve is faced in a black wool, matching the collar, with gold lace and binding creating and ornate design that finishes just before the elbow on each arm. To the reverse, the skirt of the tunic has a type of box pleat [known as a sword pleat] at the centre, featuring six buttons, identical to those on the front, and white piping. At the reverse there is also a metal hook on the waistband which would have been used to hold a type of pouch known as a sabretache. The lining of the jacket is slightly quilted with panels of a cream woollen fabric as well as a cream twill. The internal waistband is constructed from a red woollen fabric and fastens via two concealed hook and eye fastenings. British Army

Double breasted jacket in a charcoal coloured, worsted wool fabric. Jacket has peak lapels, each with a button hole; a nipped in waist; and padded shoulders. There is a hidden dart under each of the lapels. Six bakelite buttons are found at the front of the jacket, with two of them used for fastening. The jacket has jetted pockets on each side of the waist with a dart leading from the chest to each pocket. A smaller coin pocket can be found inside the right pocket. There is a welted breast pocket on the left side. On the inside, there is a button on the left side, just above the waist which fastens to one of two button holes on the front of the jacket which are hidden when the jacket is closed. Originally there may have been two inner buttons which would have fastened to these button holes. Four buttons can also be found on each of the cuffs. The inside of the jacket is lined with a satin fabric, the main body in black and the sleeves in cream. '207 / V / WEL' is written twice in black ink on the lining of the right sleeve near the shoulder. There are two inner pockets; a standard breast pocket on the right side and a smaller pocket on the left side at the waist. A seam runs down the centre at the back of the jacket and there is no back vent. Admiration Clothes
