U.S. Army M-1951 Parka Hood

Dark olive green cotton and wool detachable hood with fur trim to be worn with Parka Shell 2020.74.1. The outer hood is made of dark olive green cotton with a wired brim edge. It has a double layered neck flap and drawstring around the inner brim with leather stoppers and an elastic loop across the top of the hood. There are four button holes around the bottom edge of the neck flap to fasten to the parka shell and two large plastic buttons on the right side of the flap.

The inner edge of the brim is trimmed with brown animal fur. The inside of the hood is made of dark olive green wool or wool and cotton mix. The manufacturers label is stamped in orange ink to the inside of the outer neck flap (half of it has worn away).

Long sleeved shirt made of acetate rayon printed with a dark grey blue ground and all over pattern of different shades of pink diamonds in clusters of four. It has a large pointed collar, a dress front button stand and fastens with seven white plastic buttons. Faded blue cotton denim jacket made of two layers with large areas cut away leaving frayed edges. The fabric for the main body of the jacket has been reversed with the wrong side of the fabric facing outwards. The upper layer is the right side but is only visible around the collar, front fastening, pockets, seams, cuffs and waistband.

The jacket has a turn down collar and fastens centre front with six metal buttons. Each cuff fastens with a metal button and there are button tabs for adjustment on each side of the back waistband. It has two pointed flapped pockets at the chest and two vertical welted pockets at the waist. The pocket bags are white cotton. There is a large white Margiela for H&M label in the back of the neck.

Round neck knitted jumper in cream, bone and three shades of brown wool and alpaca mix yarn. It has sections of pattern in combinations of two colours around the neck, hem and sleeve cuffs of triangles and diamonds, knitted using the Fair Isle (fairisle) technique. The section of pattern around the neck, upper chest and back and shoulders as well as around the cuffs has been reversed so the 'wrong' side is showing with long loops of yarn. White cotton overalls with a turn-down collar, fastening at the centre front with three removable white 'bullseye' buttons. The overalls feature a button fly and two patch pockets with buttoned flaps, also fastened with removable white 'bullseye' buttons. A Tottenham Hotspur patch is stitched below the left pocket.

The overalls have been graffitied by hand in black, blue, and yellow ink across the front, back, legs, and shoulders. The right leg is marked with the Tottenham team and their positions, while the left leg features the text "Tottenham Hotspur Football Club" and "Paxton Road End." The right arm has "THFC," and the left arm lists Spurs' trophies and final appearances from 1901 to 1974. On the back, there is a large drawing in yellow and blue of the Spurs club symbol, depicting a cockerel standing on a football.

Cream cotton calico trouser liners. They have a curved front yoke that fastens with two white buttons, the fly is open. The back yoke is angled and there is a shallow V at the centre back top of the waist. White cotton tapes have been sewn horizontally on each side of the front waist band and at the centre back - for looping over braces buttons on trousers. Cream fine knit cotton jersey short-sleeved shirt with round neck and three-button fastening placket at the neck. It has a wide blue and wide red stripe horizontally around the chest and back with an appliqued square of woven cream cotton to the front centre chest. The buttons are mother-of-pearl shell, and there is an extra button sewn on to the care label. Narrow rib around the neck, and the shoulder seams are dropped to the back.
