Zheng Chenggong (also known as Koxinga) was a Ming loyalist and the chief commander of Ming troops on the maritime front in the last years of the dynasty. He took over Formosa (Taiwan) in 1661-1662, which became his base for resisting the Manchu takeover of China. He's pictured here dressed in pink flowing robes. In the background are pennants, ship masts and a river. First of pair.
