Black wool single breasted vest or waistcoat - part of a three-piece suit. It has a v-neck and fastens down the front with six black buttons. It has four slanted pockets - two chest and two at waist. The fronts were pointed but have been altered by taking up the points to the underside and stitching. The back is made of black cotton sateen and has a back strap with a black japanned two prong metal buckle with 'BRITISH' embossed into it. It is lined in cream striped cotton. There is a factory label on the inside of the left top pocket.

Blue synthetic sleeveless waistcoat or vest with silver reflective strips. The waistcoat has a v-neck and closes with a vertical length of Velcro down the centre front. It has a vertical strip of silver reflective material sewn onto each side of the front chest and a horizontal strip across the top of the centre back which has been printed with 'STONE ISLAND' in cutout lettering on black. Under the front left strip is printed in stencil style lettering in black 'S. I 989'. The armholes, bottom hem and neck edges are finished with darker blue synthetic trim.

It has a deep curved neckline which is edged in gold coloured pointed glass beads. It closes centre front with 5 pairs of black japanned metal hooks and eyes which alternate. Lined in cream cotton and with a green cotton sateen back strap with black japanned two prong metal buckle with 'BRITISH' engraved into it. There is a name stamped in black ink on the lining 'J. S. Philips' and handwritten in green pencil 'R S M GRAHAM'.

It buttons down the front with six brown horn buttons sewn on with red thread and has four slanted welted pockets. The back and lining is cream cotton and there are back tabs which fasten with a double prong metal buckle and multicoloured thread eyelets.
