'[Architect] Mr [Christopher] Eales' Report of the Accident at the Polytechnic Instituion to Thomas Waklet, Esq, Coroner for Middlesex, and the Gentlemen forming the Jury, 18 January 1859'.

The article is an architectural report on the principal staircase of the Polytechnic Institution following an accident on 3 Jan 1859 in which Emma Pike, aged 10 was killed when the staircase leading down from the balcony collapsed. It gives a detailed description of the staircase including plans and sections.
