In 1974 Hardship Committee and Scholarships Committee were separate entities. Until 1985 they reported to the Court of Governors.
In 1985 the Hardships Committee and Scholarships Committee combined and reported to the Student Affairs Committee.

1985 Terms of Reference: to make an annual report to the Student Affairs Committee; to make recommendations on the criteria for the operation of the PCL Hardship Scheme; to make recommendations on the budget for the PCL Hardship Scheme; to consider and adjudicate on applications for assistance from the PCL Hardship Scheme within the criteria laid down.
