On 22 July 1896 the magazine records that he received the prize for English subjects and certificates in Mathematics and Mechanics.
On 22 December 1896 he received his Commercial School certificates.
On 20 January 1897, it was announced that A. Fleming, along with a Percy Davenport, obtained an appointment in the offices of the American Line,
Southampton to New York Service.
December 1897 it is reported than A. Fleming passed Cambridge University (Local) examination, 2nd cl. hons., certs.
