Shown as part of Yip’s graduate collection from the BA Fashion Design course at the University of Westminster, this red wool military greatcoat draws references to military detail and decoration. The righthand side is covered in red and black rosettes reminiscent of military crosses and fastened using metal poppers, while the moire ribbon is from Toye, Kenning and Spencer, who supply regalia and insignia to the military and the Royal Family. The modular emblems are fastened using an eyelet-snap hybrid trim, which means they are interchangeable throughout all garments of the collection. It features moire ribbon epaulettes at the shoulders that attached with the same eyelet-snap trim used throughout. The back has a centre back seam at the waist with a flared skirt and features a wide moire ribbon band detachable with the eyelet-snaps. Made in the UK. Yip, Nicholas

Black nylon jacket with overlapping panel details. It is made with a high tenacity (neoballistic) fibre used in bomb blankets, and is water proof, fire retardant and knife proof. The jacket body is separated into panels, joined with a stretch fabric, causing the panels to overlap sligtly, and the jacket to shift and move when worn. This gives the jacket an armourous feel. There is a panel section on each side of the front which encorporates a small zipped pocket. The sleeves are seperated in two, with the end of the top section extending longer than the rest of the paneling edges, making a large overlap. The back of the jacket paneling runs down from the collar, then at a right angle to the shoulder seam following the shape of the shoulder blade, then at a right angle to the hem. The jacket is consructed with usual side and underarm seams. The centre front of the jacket fastens with a silver riri zip, up to the collar which extends upwards and curves to become a mouth/face covering mask shape. Designed and made in UK Vexed Generation
