Records of The Poly Carlton, a Conservative Society formed in November 1891 'to assist the Conservative Party in the Parliament and to bring those members of the Institute who are Conservatives in touch with each other' (Ref. Polytechnic Magazine, 13 November 1891). It is not known exactly how long the Society was in existence, the last mention of it in the Magazine is in October 1895.
