        The company was established in 1919 by the Feinbloom Brothers as "Knickerbocker Knitting Company. The name was changed to Champion in 1938 and was patented in 1952. Today the company is owned by American apparel company Hanesbrands and is known for selling sports, casualwear, footwear and accessories.
