            Billings & Edmonds Evening Waistcoat with Shawl Collar

            Black wool bespoke tailored evening waistcoat with deep shawl collar trimmed with fine black braid around the collar, pocket welts and the front bottom hem. It is lined with cream silk satin which has been hand stitched and the back is made of black silk (?) twill. Fastening at the centre front with three buttons and three hand finished buttonholes. Two functional pockets with welts on the bottom left and right front panels. The back has a V shaped notch in the bottom hem and two black silk (?) backstraps (tabs) which have been altered by hand stitching them down and fasten with a black lacquered metal two pronged buckle with 'BRITISH' on one side and 'ARMFIELD B'HAM' [Birmingham] on the other. Label hand stitched into the back of the left backstrap. Made by Billings & Edmonds Ltd of London and Godalming for A. E. Sursham.

            Black wool double breasted tailcoat with peak lapels and square taills. It has six black woven thread wrapped shank buttons down the front with six (open) buttonholes. Two of the same buttons are at the centre back waist, and two smaller black thread wrapped shank buttons are on each cuff. It is lined in black rayon? and cotton with cream striped cotton lining the sleeves. There are vertical slit pockets in the top of each tail and pockets in the chest lining. The one on the right contains the tailor's label. There is a woven black and yellow label in the back of the neck which is shredding, only 'BERLIN' is visable. The buttons have 'C. H. R. BERLIN' engraved into the black japanned metal backs. The coat has been skillfully let out and altered - evidence from inserts in the lining under each armhole and where the front buttons appear to have been moved.

            Zip fronted, waist length beige cycling or sports jacket with turn down collar and wide rib knit cuffs. The jacket is made from a lightweight, cotton mix fabric in a beige or light brown colour and is fully lined. YKK metal zip. It has vertical jetted pockets to the front waist with two inner breast pockets. There are two sewn down small vertical pleats to the back panel of the side seams near the waist. Two tabs with buckles on either side of the waist allow the jacket to be adjusted for fit. Lined in grey cream synthetic fabric. Sartor

            Pair of light beige cotton twill trousers with low cut waist and long belt loops. They have two patch pockets over the hips with wide curved edged flaps. They fasten with a silver coloured metal press stud and Aero zip fly. There are two belt loops at the front, two on the side and two at the centre back. Unworn deadstock the trousers have their original cardboard label attached.

            Pair of boys football trainers in black leather. Trainers lace up with black laces which thread through five pairs of eyelet holes and have a leather tongue. Three white leather bands with serrated edges sit across the inner and outer sides of the upper of each trainer [Adidas logo stripes] and a white half-moon at each heel. The sole of the trainers are made from rubber. adidas

            Collarless shirt in a thin brown pinstripe. Shirt is front fastening via five mother of pearl effect buttons. The buttons only reach just over half the way down the front and there is a flap-over front below this. It has a neckband collar to which a detachable, trubenised collar [three included] can be fitted via worked stud holes on neck band [two at front and one stud hole in pocket at back of neck]. Each sleeve has a French cuff with four worked link holes enabling cufflinks to be worn when the sleeve is doubled back. Shirt is long in length so that is stays tucked in securely. The hemline of the shirt is rounded and is longer at the back than the front, with splits at each side seam. Percy Harrison

            Short sleeved rayon shirt with screen printed design in shades of green, blue, grey and yellow depicting waves, palm trees, buildings and a mountain - probably Hawaii. The design also has highlights in orange and images of small figures on boats and sailing. The shirt has a turn down collar and lapel and fastens centre front with five white opaque plastic buttons. It has a patch pocket on the left chest. It is loosely cut with a shoulder yoke at the back. Size small.

Shirt has a half button front; pulling on over the head and fastening with four mother of pearl buttons. Each cuff also fastens with a single mother of pearl button.
