'Mr. Edmundson holds the London University Teachers' Certificate and also the Diploma in Physical Education of the Carnegie Physical Training College with Distinction in Teaching. He has had considerable experience in teaching, and in 1938 was appointed Assistant Organiser of Physical Education under the Middlesex County Council. He had a distinguished war record. Soon after being commissioned in the Royal Fusiliers he was awarded the M.C. in North Africa. Afterwards he held several important administrative posts connected with Physical Training and Sports Training in the Mediterranean theatre. He became Senior Pro-Rector in 1974, a position that was made permanent in 1979.

Whilst a Senior Pro-Director he helped build PCL's research programme to the largest of any of the 30 polys totalling £2.5 million.
In 1937-1939 he taught Landscape and Still Life Painting.
He retired in 1939 and lived in Taunton, Somerset during his retirement.

In January, 1913, Louie Bagley was appointed Head of the Polytechnic School of Elocution (as it was then known) in conjunction with the late Captain George Goodes. Captain Goodes was killed in the War in 1915, and from that time Miss Bagley carried on alone. Under her guidance the School developed as the School of Speech Training and Dramatic Art.
She remained Head of the School of Speech Training and Dramatic Art until her death in 1926.
