Tarleton Jeans was a British denim label manufactured by Martin & Gould Ltd in Liverpool. Menswear store Costers in Torquay advertised Tarleton Jeans in 1963 with 13-inch bottoms. Actionware, in Widnes, Cheshire were selling Tarleton Jeans in 1973 alongside Wrangler Flares, Falmer Casuals and Lybro Scadogs. The company regularly advertised for staff, with premises at 150 Islington in 1950; Tarleton Street from around 1953; and then Greek Street from 1972. In 1964 they advertised for girls to be trained as machinists in the jeans and casualwear trade; in 1965 they ‘urgently required’ experienced three-needle, twin-needle and flat machinists; the following year the company was described as a ‘manufacturer of jeans and casual wear’; and in 1972 Tarleton Jeans were named in employment advertisements.Sources: Liverpool Echo; Torbay Express and South Devon Echo; Formby Times; Runcorn Weekly News.

Issey Miyake (1938-2022) established his design studio in Tokyo in 1970. The men's collection was launched in 1976 and was given its own identity in 1978. Miyake menswear was designed by Naoki Takizawa from 1983 until 2007 when Dai Fujiwara became head designer for the company. For the Spring Summer 2012 collection the menswear label was rebranded as Issey Miyake Men, it was designed by Yusuke Takahasi from 2014 until January 2020. In July 2020 it was announced that the collection would be discontinued, though their HOMME PLISSÉ Issey Miyake line would still be produced.
