Administrative history

The label was established by Hussein Chalayan (1970-) after he graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in 1993. Menswear was added in 2002 with the exclusive rights then sold to Yoox.com in 2007. Sportswear company Puma AG acquired a majority stake in 2008, but this was bought back by Chalayan in 2010. The label was relaunched in 2016 as 'Chalayan'.
