Single breasted wool coat in a brown herringbone weave with brown velvet collar. It has very wide lapels and a notched collar. It fastens centre front with a concealed button closure and four large horn buttons (third button down loose). It has a welted angled pocket at the left chest and three flapped pockets - two larger pockets at the waist and one smaller on the right side at rib level. It has vents and four small horn buttons on each cuff and a long vent in the centre back. It is lined in brown rayon woven with 'Christian Dior' at angles all over. There is a hanging loop in the back of the neck. Swatch of extra outer fabric in the front left pocket.

This coat belonged to the donor’s father. It was possibly purchased at Harrods in around 1970 as his father worked on Brompton Road in the late 1960s-1970s. It was the first piece of ready-to-wear tailoring he bought.
