This dark blue cotton single-breasted jacket by Joe Casely-Hayford blends tailoring with sportswear and American Western influences. The jacket features half-moon curved welt pockets on the front, with four internal metal hook-and-eye fasteners. The jacket is 3/4 lined, with fully lined sleeves in striped fabric and blue-grey satin lining on the front panels. It has deep knitted ribbed cuffs, reminiscent of sweatshirt or bomber jacket designs. Inside, there are three welt pockets: two measuring 13cm on the front and a smaller 5cm pocket on the left. The back features a centre seam and two back vents. A woven "Joe Casely-Hayford" label is sewn into the right breast interior.

      RIB CUFF JACKET
      Joe Casely-Hayford
      Spring Summer 2011
This cotton single-breasted two-button jacket by Joe Casely-Hayford combines tailoring with elements of sportswear and American Western wear. The sleeve cuffs are finished with deep ribbed knit more usual on a sweatshirt or bomber jacket. The two half-moon curved welt pockets in the front are characteristic of cowboy garments, American informal tailoring from the 1930s, and British Teddy Boy tailoring from the 1950s. The pockets fasten with multiple hook-and-eye closures. Traditionally, in menswear, hook-and-eye closures are utilized in military tailoring for dress uniforms to ensure a flush front closure. The jacket is partially lined with blue-grey satin fabric, the sleeve lining is striped, there are three interior pockets finished with jets from the lining material. It has a centre back seam and two back vents.
