Hein Gerike opened his first motorcycle shop in Düsseldorf, Germany in 1970. The company expanded to include clothing and accessories for bikers and began operating across Europe. They also developed the HIPROTECT soft armour system. The business went into administration several times between 2012 and 2018.

Scope and content

Black top with armour pads, centre front zip and two red highlighting stripes down each front side side. Over the left chest is an applied badge with a red line and 'HIPROTEC®' underneath four pictograms of a skier, a motor cross rider, a motorbike rider and a snowboarder.

It has a short stand collar and cuffs of the same black stretch jersey of the main body of the top. There are black airtex panels under the arms and the underside of each sleeve. It has two triangular shaped pads on the chest and two larger pads over the shoulder blades at the back.

The back of the top has a large padded panel with curved edges down the spine which is trimmed with lines of grey reflective tape. Over the lower back is a zipped pocket.
