Sunspel have been making luxury men's underwear since 1860. Sunspel's own John Hill not only introduced the boxer short to Britain in 1947, he also perfected its design. Initially only available in America, it was Sunspel's own John Hill who saw the opportunity in bringing the boxer short to the UK in 1947. Working from the Sunspel factory in Long Eaton, he refined the design to craft the boxer short as we know it today.
With just a few minor tweaks here and there, to this very day the boxer shorts are produced to the original specifications developed by John Hill.

Pair of cotton boxer shorts in black and white design of factories. The seams are double turned and feldlocked to avoid rough edges. The rear has a distinctive back panel instead of a central seam.

This pair of boxer shorts was a donation that accompanied the matching Sunspel face mask with factories design. It was packed in branded clear plastic bag with a small paper sticker with the product's title and barcode. The pack also included a complimentary postcard with an image of the Peak district and a personalised thank you note.
