Black wool 'opera' top hat which is collapsible. It has a black grosgrain ribbon around the bottom of the crown and the brim is trimmed in black silk grosgrain. There is a wide band of black grosgrain silk lining the inside of the crown near the brim, the top part is lined in black silk satin. The crown is held up by collapsible metal frame and springs. The inside top of the crown is printed in gold with a design of a crown over a ribbon with: Established 1826 / Mander / and Allender / Best London / 5 and 7. / DALE STREET, / LIVERPOOL
