Item 2016.322 - Alex Bottenberg Jacket

Oversized check jacket with towelling applique detail on the front and back. It has a high pointed collar and fastens centre front with a YKK metal zip. The jacket is made from check tweed in pale lemon yellow, olive green and brown and has no vents but a yoke over the back shoulders. The jacket has two large patch poacher pockets with inverted vertical pleats and shaped flaps, one on each side of the centre front. The sleeve cuffs fasten with one self-covered button and the sleeves are lined in checked cotton.

The front applique decoration made of layers of red and blue cotton towelling and green wool felt which have been cut through to create the design. The design is of a large ring with an angled panel through the middle and two knives in red and black. Around the ring is the phrase ‘Blue is Hard Kids’ and through the middle is ‘Bottenberg’. On the back is a large ‘B’ in beige cotton towelling edged in red wool felt and ‘Blue Boy’ in red cotton towelling, edged in blue felt. Part of outfit for Bottenberg's graduate collection.
