Scope and content
Trousers made from fine mesh decorated with circular white plastic [PET?] sequins which have been hand painted/sprayed with a camouflage pattern in yellow, black and olive green. The top waistband and lining is made of cotton camouflage fabric and there is one rounded black patch pocket on the front which fastens with a gold metal coloured YKK zip. Part of outfit for Look 5 of James's graduate collection.
James found the Yellow / Green / White camouflage fabric as part of warehouse clear out at an east London fabric store and he paid about £2.50 / metre for the roll. The sequins have been hand sprayed as nowhere on the roll did the pattern repeat. The trouser has an elasticated waistband and has camo printed cotton details. The fabric was key to the collection and used throughout by James 'as it was subverting something so masculine and functional into something camp and frivolous'.

Adam Marc James press release, 2014:
The Dancing Marquis Collection, Autumn Winter 2014
'Loosely based on the life of Henry Paget, the 5th Marquis of Anglesey, the collection re-imagines the Marquis as a 21st century man. The collection draws on the merging of soft loungewear separates with the security of high performance sportswear as he walks from his bed directly to the English countryside in the dead of night, plagued by his inability to sleep....In 1890 Henry Paget, the 5th Marquis of Anglesey, nicknamed 'Toppy' inherited his title and the family estates between Staffordshire, Dorset, Anglesey and Derbyshire.'
