Autumn Winter 2000
A trompe l’oeil effect has been created by the clever use of cut and seaming in this artificial leather jacket, giving the appearance of a shorter jacket layered over a longer one. Several garments in the Comme des Garçons Homme Plus Autumn Winter 2000 collection featured this technique. The trompe l’oeil shorter overpiece is made of perforated material and ends at the upper hip, whereas the actual jacket extends to the lower hip. There are two jetted flapped pockets and one slanted breast pocket. The sleeve cuffs have three horn buttons on a sham vent, above this is a shorter trompe l’oeil sleeve that ends in line with the edge of the trompe l’oeil body, with three non-working stitched buttonholes.
