            Brown fine cotton long sleeved shirt printed with a design of small spots and a stylised floral motif in beige, green and yellow. It fastens centre front with six buttons. It has a button down pointed collar, one button rounded cuffs and two patch pockets with buttoning flaps at the chest. All the buttons are mother of pearl shell. Size 1. Label 'Jean Cacharel / Paris' - this is different from the women's wear labels of the same period, perhaps the shirt was made under licence.

            Black cotton and vinyl peaked cap with detachable enamel and metal badge (part of a uniform of jacket, trousers and cap). The cap has a black vinyl crown and faded black cotton band. The stiff peak is black with a green underside and the lining of the cap is black cotton. It is stamped with BR and 6 1/2 in a roundel. The lining sweat band is leather (in poor condition). The enamel badge is red and brass coloured metal with 'BRITISH RAILWAYS' in a sans serif font and 'J PINCHES LONDON' on the back. There is some damage to the enamel.

            Single breasted, red tartan evening jacket in a lightweight, wool fabric with a shawl collar. The tartan has a bright red background with thick, criss-crossing vertical and horizontal stripes in black. A fine, yellow stripe is laid over the black and follows the same pattern, The lining, collar and the two jetted pockets at the waist are made of black satin.             Black PVC cap with a peak and neck flap covering. It is lined in black wool and the peak is stiffened with five lines of stitching.             Black melton wool blazer, single breasted with three patch pockets. Collar, lapels, front edge, bottom hem, tops of pockets and bottom of sleeves above the cuffs are trimmed with cream or off-white grosgrain ribbon. The ribbon is stained and yellowing. The chest pocket has a hand embroidered badge in the shape of a shield with the Latin phrase 'Labore et Honore' underneath. The sleeves are lined in cream striped cotton and the rest of the blazer is unlined with seams finished with black binding. A welted, breast pocket sits on the left side of the chest and a jetted pocket with a flap is on either side of the waist. At the back of the jacket there is a centre seam and a double vent.
