Blue cotton twill General Post Office uniform jacket with red 'GPO' lettering embroidered on each collar. The jacket fastens centre front with five black plastic 'bullseye' removable buttons with wide stitched facings and has two large patch pockets at hip level on the front. It has two lengths of fabric stitched into the inside (seams visible from the outside) at a downward angle from each side of the front opening to the pockets - probably as strengthening for the pockets.

On the left chest are two stitched eyelet holes (for a badge). It has a hanging loop in the back of the neck. Run and fell double stitched seams, no back centre seam or vents. No labels - there are remnants of stitching on the inside where the labels would have been sewn.
