Jerkin made from heavy brown leather. The jerkin is sleeveless and has a high, rounded neckline. It is front fastening with four large, brown buttons down the front. The buttonholes themselves have stitching around the opening for added reinforcement. The hemline is lower at the front than at the back, coming together at a point at the opening. Towards the hemline on the right side and near the side seam on the left side, there is evidence that the garment has been pieced. The fabric at the hem and outer seams has been folded under and topstitched. On the inside, the jerkin is lined with khaki wool fabric. Under the arms on each side, triangular pieces of leather have been stitched onto the lining for reinforcement.
